As tours and shows got canceled for the foreseeable future, online music vendor Bandcamp started ‘Bandcamp Fridays’ to support artists impacted by the pandemic. Since March, Bandcamp has waived their revenue share on music and merchandise sales on every first Friday of the month. In the past few months the music community has come together in a huge way, buying more than $75 million worth of music and merchandise DIRECTLY from artists and labels on Bandcamp. Because the pandemic is far from over, they’ll continue to hold Bandcamp Fridays on the first Friday of every month until the end of this year, so keep your eyes and ears open for new stuff by some your favourites.
Here are some recommendations to support and purchase on the next Bandcamp Friday on September 4th (or any other day.)
