“As individuals, we have an impossible battle. As a collective, we stand a chance.”

Small Axe is a collection of five films created and directed by Academy Award and Bafta-winning filmmaker Steve McQueen. Each film is set from the late 1960s to the mid 1980s, telling personal stories from London’s West Indian community, whose lives have been shaped by their own force of will despite rampant racism and discrimination.

The series premiered on BBC One in the UK and is now also available on Amazon Prime Video, with a new film every Friday from 20 Nov-18 Dec.
